Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh claims dismissed police inspector Sachin Waze reported directly to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and ex-Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, who allegedly called him to his residence. Singh accuses Deshmukh of corruption and setting a Rs 100 crore monthly target for Mumbai's bars and restaurants, which led to disrupted department command and extortion demands. Singh had previously accused Deshmukh of such practices, which resulted in his resignation in April 2021.
