AAP leader Manish Sisodia granted bail by Supreme Court after 17 months in Tihar Jail on corruption charges related to Delhi excise policy case.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, former deputy chief minister of Delhi, was granted bail by the Supreme Court after 17 months in Tihar Jail on corruption and money laundering charges related to the Delhi excise policy case. Sisodia thanked the Supreme Court, Babasaheb Ambedkar, and the power of democracy for his release, crediting his supporters and the power of truth for his bail. The Supreme Court stated that Sisodia's long incarceration without trial had deprived him of the right to speedy justice. Sisodia expressed hope that the same power would ensure the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
