In Lagos, Nigeria, a drunk driver caused an accident on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, hitting two pedestrians. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) rescued the victims and arrested the intoxicated driver and two other occupants. The accident occurred near Mayfair Garden at 6:30 a.m., involving a Toyota Camry and a commercial LT bus. LASTMA's Special Adviser on Transportation, Mr. Sola Giwa, urged motorists to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol.
