California bookmaker Mathew Bowyer pleads guilty to operating an illegal gambling business, including bets from Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter. The operation involved over 700 bettors and lasted for at least five years. Bowyer also admitted to money laundering and submitting a false tax return. Despite sports gambling being illegal in California, 38 states and the District of Columbia allow it.
