38-year-old North Charleston Police Lt. Joseph Sherwood has been arrested on charges of DUI and having an open container in his vehicle. The South Carolina Highway Patrol apprehended him at 1:03 a.m. on I-26 in Dorchester County due to failure to maintain lane, minimum speed limit violation, and a defective taillight. Sherwood, on administrative leave, was booked at the Dorchester County Detention Center.
