63-year-old Deak Matteson Jr. from Alabama was arrested for drunk driving and vehicular negligent injuring after a head-on collision with a Louisiana State Police trooper on Highway 24 in Houma. The trooper was attempting to stop Matteson, who was driving in the wrong direction, with lights and sirens. The trooper sustained minor injuries, while Matteson failed a blood alcohol test and was arrested.
