The Supreme Court of India is using AI technology for translating judicial documents, enhancing legal research, and automating various processes, including transcribing oral arguments since February 2023. A Supreme Court judge-led committee oversees the translation of significant Supreme Court and High Court judgments into regional languages. Eight High Courts have implemented e-High Court Reports (e-HCR), with 36,271 Supreme Court judgments translated into Hindi and 17,142 into 16 other regional languages available on the e-SCR portal. No separate funds have been allocated for the translation project.
