Speeding driver Rashid Ali was found guilty in his absence of causing death by dangerous driving after striking and killing jogger Jack Patrick Ryan near Battersea Bridge in west London. Driving twice the 20mph speed limit in his Range Rover Sport, Ali did not attend his trial at the Old Bailey, and jurors were instructed not to speculate on his absence. In an email, Ali expressed regret and vowed to return to face any prison sentence. He will be sentenced on September 13.
