New Zealand Customs and police have disrupted a Mexican crime syndicate operating in Auckland, arresting three Mexican nationals and seizing 180 kilograms of methamphetamine, worth approximately NZ$63 million. The syndicate, which is believed to have imported the drugs from Mexico, had been under investigation for three months as part of Operation Fix. This marks the 27th transnational organised crime cell dismantled by the joint efforts of the National Organised Crime Group and Customs in the past seven years, preventing over NZ$200 million in potential social harm.
