During a hearing in the Crystal Rogers murder case, suspect Steve Lawson fired his lawyer Ted Lavit, alleging Lavit failed to fulfill his duties. Lawson, charged with conspiracy and tampering with evidence, had his request to dismiss Lavit granted. A public defender will represent him within the next two weeks. The case involves the 2015 murder of Bardstown mother Crystal Rogers, for which Lawson, his son Joseph, and Rogers' boyfriend Brooks Houck have been charged.
