Jigawa State Government in Nigeria announced free healthcare for hypertension, diabetes, and sickle cell patients, expanding its existing Free Maternal Neonatal and Child Healthcare program. The State Executive Council approved N179.2 million for Direct Facility Financing to accredited Primary Healthcare Centers, added 17 PHCs, and allocated N69.1 million for midwives' and community influencers' monthly stipends. The World Bank-backed IMPACT Project will revitalize 161 PHCs with N1.2 billion funding in 2024.
