Irish consumer price inflation remained at 2.2% in July, steady from June and the lowest rate since July 2021, with energy price cuts helping to keep inflation in check. Transport charges rose 5.5%, driven by higher prices for diesel, petrol, airfares, and motor cars. Food and non-alcoholic beverages saw a 2.1% increase, while clothing and footwear prices dropped 4.9%. Monthly consumer prices rose 0.2% in July compared to a 0.4% increase in June.
