Indian Parliament approves J&K's Rs. 1,18,390 crore budget for 2024-25, focusing on infrastructure, agriculture, employment, tourism, and social inclusion.

The Indian Parliament has approved a budget of Rs. 1,18,390 crore ($15.8 billion) for Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) in 2024-25. The budget includes Rs. 81,486 crore for revenue expenditure and Rs. 36,904 crore for capital expenditure, exceeding pre-actuals by Rs. 30,889 crore. J&K has been granted a special financial support package of Rs. 17,000 crore from the Central Government to reduce the fiscal deficit to 3.0% in the financial year 2024-25. The budget aims to address ongoing initiatives for infrastructure development, sustainable agriculture, employment generation, tourism, and social inclusion.
