EPA approves return of natural water flow to Sulphur Run in East Palestine, one year and a half after the train derailment.

Norfolk Southern's East Palestine cleanup progresses, as the EPA approves the return of natural water flow to Sulphur Run, a year and a half after the train derailment. The final ditch segment along tracks is cleared to redirect water back into the creek. Cleanup activities continue, with crews grading, backfilling, reconstructing ditches, and installing stormwater infrastructure to restore the site to its original condition before the rail accident. The "Big Blue Tanks" will be dismantled and removed once hazardous water is shipped off-site.
