Odisha's SRC, Satyabrata Sahu, alerts 10 districts due to rising Mahanadi River water levels caused by Hirakud Dam discharge. Districts on high alert include Sambalpur, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Angul, Boudh, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara. Six more sluice gates have been opened at the dam, releasing 5.78 lakh cusecs of water. Some low-lying areas in Khurda and Cuttack are already flooded, but officials say there's no immediate flood threat.
