An Amtrak train with nearly 100 passengers collided with a tractor-trailer in North Haven, Connecticut, causing minor injuries to the train engineer and damaging warning equipment at the crossing. The accident occurred as the train was heading south to Norfolk, Virginia, from Springfield, Massachusetts. The truck driver was unharmed, and none of the passengers were hurt. Amtrak temporarily suspended train service and bused passengers to another station. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
