21-year-old Indian fisherman Cheeranjeevi with 30% second-degree burns was rescued by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) 183 km off the Kakinada Coast in Andhra Pradesh. The ICG ship Samudra Paheredar, on patrol, was diverted to help after receiving a distress call. Cheeranjeevi was treated on board, then transferred to the ICG Ship C-430 for further medical care and ultimately admitted to the Government Hospital Kakinada for treatment.
