43-year-old Dennis Thornton, acting erratically on an Interstate 35 overpass, died shortly after being arrested by the San Marcos Police Department. Officers used a Taser, restrained him, and took him to a hospital for medical treatment, but he was pronounced dead within an hour. Investigations are underway by the San Marcos PD's Criminal Investigation Division, Office of Professional Conduct, and the Texas Department of Public Safety's Texas Rangers Division, while the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office conducts an autopsy.
