Nutrien warns of potential 2024 potash sales drop due to Canadian rail strike threat.
Nutrien, the world's largest potash producer, warns that sales volumes for 2024 could be impacted by a potential rail strike by thousands of Canadian rail workers. Through its marketing and delivery subsidiary, Canpotex Ltd., Nutrien moves potash produced at its Canadian mines by rail to North American ports for export to global markets. The company anticipates that a week-long rail strike could result in its potash sales volume for 2024 coming in at the lower end of the forecasted range of 13.2 million to 13.8 million tonnes.
