The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has published a guidance booklet detailing legal provisions and court judgments related to the disposal of seized drugs and other items. The booklet provides information to Drug Law Enforcement Agencies (DLEAs) and is accessible at the Narco Coordination (NCORD) portal. From 2021 to 2023, DLEAs reported the disposal of over 1.5 million kilograms of drugs to NCB, with a significant increase in the destruction of opium cultivation in 2023. Additionally, the Kochi unit of the NCB in Kerala has destroyed over 2,700 kg of synthetic drugs, including Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (crystal meth) and heroin, through incineration.
