NASA considers switching two astronauts from Boeing's Starliner to SpaceX's Crew Dragon due to safety concerns.

NASA is considering a backup plan to use SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft to return two astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, to Earth if concerns about Boeing's Starliner spacecraft's safety persist. The astronauts, who were initially scheduled to return on Starliner, may join SpaceX's Crew-9 Dragon mission in February 2025, extending their stay to 8 months instead of the initially planned 8-10 days. NASA officials are discussing potential plans with SpaceX to leave two seats empty on an upcoming Crew Dragon launch for Wilmore and Williams, who were the first crew to fly on Boeing's Starliner.
