Lockdown at Warkworth Institution ended on Aug 7, after an exceptional search led to the seizure of drugs, weapons, tattoo supplies, and cell phones. Correctional Service Canada has implemented enhanced measures to prevent contraband entry and works with police to prosecute those attempting to bring these items into correctional facilities. Normal operations have resumed.
