At least two people died from heatstroke in Shenzhen, with emergency services attending 88 heat-related illnesses from August 1-6th. The extreme heat follows China's hottest July in modern history and the worst heatwaves since 1961 in 2022, though no official death toll for heat-related incidents has been disclosed.
