Chhattisgarh government announced the creation of a new tiger reserve called the 'Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve', making it the state's fourth reserve and the country's third-largest at 2,829.387 sq km. The reserve aims to boost eco-tourism, generate employment opportunities, and strengthen wildlife conservation, particularly tiger protection. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, based on recommendations from the state wildlife board and the consent of the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
