Austria's foreign trade fell in May 2022, with exports declining 9.9% and imports decreasing 13.3%. Despite this, the country maintained a positive trade balance for eight consecutive months. In the first five months of 2022, imports dropped by 12.6% and exports declined by 5.2% compared to the same period in 2021. Austria's trade surplus from January to May was 2.56 billion euros, reversing a deficit of 4.32 billion euros in the same period in 2021.
