Southampton Container Terminals Limited fined £1m for employee's fall due to unsafe work conditions.

DP World Southampton's subsidiary, Southampton Container Terminals Limited, was fined £1m after an employee, Christopher Hooper, fell 11 metres through an open hole in a driver's cab. Hooper, 29, suffered life-changing injuries, including fractures to his skull, back, and pelvis. The Health and Safety Executive found the company failed to ensure a safe system of work, conduct risk assessments, or implement permit-to-work policies during maintenance work.
