68% of Scottish A&E patients seen within 4 hours, up from 63.5%, but still below 95% target.

68% of patients in Scotland's A&E departments were seen within four hours, an improvement from the previous week's 63.5%. However, the figures still fall short of the 95% target set by the Scottish Government. The proportion of people waiting longer than 12 hours and eight hours decreased, but the latest monthly figures for June showed a drop in overall performance. Health Secretary Neil Gray acknowledged the improvement but stressed the need for continued improvement. The Scottish Budget provides £19.5 billion for health and social care with an extra £500 million for frontline boards.
