India's TRAI proposes migrating telemarketing to blockchain for combating spam calls.

India's Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) has called for immediate action against unregistered telemarketers and enterprises involved in bulk calling through 10-digit numbers. TRAI has asked telecom companies to submit data on unregistered telemarketers receiving the highest complaints and has identified specific numbers reported as spam. To combat promotional calls, including robotic calls, auto-dialler, and pre-recorded calls, TRAI has proposed that all relevant business operations should be migrated to a blockchain-based distributed ledger technology platform.
