The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) is introducing new banknotes featuring updated security features, including the signatures of CBK Governor Kamau Thugge and National Treasury PS Chris Kiptoo, a 2024 date, and unique security threads with color-changing effects specific to each denomination. The new features will initially be incorporated into the KES 1,000 notes, with other denominations to follow in the coming months.
