78-year-old director David Lynch reveals emphysema diagnosis due to lifelong smoking.
78-year-old director David Lynch, known for his works such as Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, and Blue Velvet, has revealed he has been diagnosed with emphysema due to his lifelong smoking habit. The condition has left him homebound and concerned about getting sick, potentially even with a cold. Although he mentioned that he could direct remotely if necessary, Lynch expressed his dislike for that option. However, he later clarified in a follow-up statement that he is in excellent shape, has quit smoking for over two years, and does not plan to retire. He has continued to be creative during the pandemic by launching the "What is David Working on Today?" video series and daily weather reports on YouTube, as well as releasing an album titled "Cellophane Memories" with Chrystabell.
