UK DWP clarifies rule: War Pensions, AFCS awards' first £10/week disregarded in means-tested benefits, Armed Forces Independence Payments excluded.
The UK's Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) clarified certain rules about state pensions and benefits that apply to War Pensions and the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) awards. The first £10 per week of these awards is disregarded in means-tested benefits, such as Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Jobseeker's Allowance, and Income Support, and in Pension Credit. Armed Forces Independence Payments are fully excluded from these benefits and can enable eligibility for an extra disability amount.
