Philippine House Committee on Dangerous Drugs Chairperson links POGOs to drug syndicates after raids reveal P3.6B worth of narcotics.

The House Committee on Dangerous Drugs Chairperson, Robert Ace Barbers, has claimed a strong link between Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGOs) and drug syndicates. The connection is based on the findings during investigations of raided POGOs in Central Luzon, where narcotics worth P3.6 billion were discovered. The House Committees on Public Order and Safety, on Dangerous Drugs, and on Human Rights are working closely together in investigating all issues related to POGOs, with President Marcos having ordered an immediate ban on POGOs and instructing the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. to wind down all POGOs by the end of the year. The Marcos administration remains committed to holding those behind illegal POGO activities accountable.
