40 North Dakota law enforcement agencies receive SoToxa devices to detect drug-impaired driving.

40 North Dakota law enforcement agencies will receive and train officers on the use of mobile drug-screening devices, the SoToxa oral fluid devices, to detect drug-impaired driving. After a pilot program revealed that oral fluid samples indicated drugs were present in 83% of cases, the devices can identify various substances such as marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamine, and opiates. This initiative aims to provide law enforcement with tools to identify drug-impaired drivers and remove them from the roads.
