Nigeria's NDLEA enhances drug trafficking fight with UNODC-trained Marine Command divers.
Nigeria's National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has strengthened its capabilities against drug trafficking by training and certifying Marine Command officers in various diving techniques. These include basic diving, advanced open water diving, and full-face mask diving. The training was initiated by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and aims to combat large shipments of cocaine reaching Nigeria, discouraging international drug cartels from hiding illicit consignments on ships and vessels entering the country.
