Indian Supreme Court to review Bombay High Court's verdict upholding Mumbai college's hijab ban.

The Indian Supreme Court will hear a plea challenging the Bombay High Court's verdict that upheld a Mumbai college's decision to ban hijabs, burqas, and naqabs on campus. The high court previously ruled that such rules did not violate students' fundamental rights, stating that a dress code is necessary to maintain discipline which falls under the college's fundamental right to do so. The Supreme Court is yet to conclusively decide the legality of such rules imposed by educational institutions.
