German factory orders increased 3.9% in June, surpassing expectations and marking the first monthly growth since December 2023, according to the Federal Statistical Office. The rise was driven by significant gains in orders for aircraft, ships, trains, and automotive products. Domestic orders saw a 9.1% increase while foreign orders rose by just 0.4%. However, orders for computer, electronic, and optical products decreased by 7.9%. This positive development for the manufacturing sector followed a 1.6% decline in May.
