35-foot wide, 15-foot deep sinkhole formed on Alachua County's West Newberry Road (SR-26) near Gilchrist County line due to Hurricane Debby's heavy rainfall. Road closed in both directions as it's unstable, with the sinkhole continuing to expand. The Alachua County Sheriff's Office and Florida Department of Transportation are on the scene for assessment and response.
