10 foreign airlines, including British Airways and Emirates, receive tax evasion notices from India's DGGI, owing Rs 10,000 crore in unpaid taxes.

India's DGGI issues tax evasion notices to 10 foreign airlines, including British Airways and Emirates, accusing them of owing Rs 10,000 crore in unpaid taxes on services imported from their head offices to Indian branches. The airlines are not covered by a June 26 circular on the valuation of supply of import of services by a related person, making them ineligible for full input tax credit. DGGI initiated a probe in August 2023, and the notices cover the period from July 2017 to March 2024.
