The Pioneer Fire in Chelan County, Washington, has reached a quarter-mile from Stehekin, threatening the area. Stehekin, under Level 3 evacuation orders, has been protected by crews using sprinklers and 27 miles of hose line to wet down homes and infrastructure. The wildfire, currently 12% contained, has prompted Governor Jay Inslee to issue an emergency proclamation to speed up the supply of firefighting equipment. The fire is most active around Stehekin and has grown by around 2,000 acres between Saturday and Sunday.
