Britain's women's cycling team sets world record, wins gold in women's team sprint at Paris Olympics.

Britain's women's cycling team of Emma Finucane, Katy Marchant, and Sophie Capewell won gold and set a world record in the women's team sprint at the Paris Olympics, beating New Zealand by 0.5 seconds. This is the UK's first Olympic medal in the women's team sprint event. The team broke the world record in all three rounds and had previously failed to qualify for the event since London 2012.
