Coast Guard sector in Los Angeles/Long Beach received distress call at 3:45 p.m., while a nearby vessel found and rescued the man, who appeared uninjured. Petty Officer 2nd Class Logan Venero stressed the importance of wearing life jackets, staying calm, marking the position on GPS, and throwing a life ring or flotation aid towards the person in the water.
