Tamil Nadu BJP President and fishermen reps to meet Union Minister for External Affairs regarding attacks on Indian fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy.

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai and fishermen representatives are set to meet Union Minister for External Affairs S. Jaishankar in New Delhi to discuss recurring attacks on Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu by the Sri Lankan Navy. The meeting follows the recent death of a fisherman named Malaisami near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), and the arrest of two others by the Sri Lankan Navy. Currently, 87 fishermen and 120 mechanized boats from Tamil Nadu are in Sri Lankan custody. The meeting's potential impact on the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu has prompted an indefinite strike by fishermen from Ramanathapuram district, who refuse to venture out to sea for fishing.
