New Zealand's Associate Education Minister, David Seymour, reported an improvement in student attendance during Term Three's first two weeks, with an overall rate of 83.9%. Seymour praised the government's focus on education and highlighted the importance of a high-quality curriculum for enhancing literacy and math skills. The government targets 80% of students to be present for more than 90% of the term by 2030 and an average daily attendance rate above 94%. The Attendance Action Plan, which includes a traffic light system, will continue to be rolled out in 2024.
