Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, appointed former Nigerian national team player Emmanuel Amuneke as the new head coach of Heartland Football Club, a Nigerian National League team, on August 5, 2024. Amuneke, who previously managed Egyptian club Misr Lel-Makkasa, takes over as Heartland was relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League the previous season. Governor Uzodinma aims to help reposition the club for a brighter future.
