Heavy rain in Pune, India, has prompted authorities to evacuate residents from danger zones near rivers and dams, including Ekta Nagar, Dattwadi, Patil Estate, Yerwada, Shivaji Nagar, court area, Kamgar Putla area, Harris Bridge, and Dapodi. Army personnel have been deployed in some residential areas affected by the excess water discharge from Khadakwasla dam. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has instructed authorities to be vigilant and shift people from dangerous zones to safer locations with the help of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the Army, if necessary.
