At the Paris Olympics, three Black women gymnasts made history by standing on the podium together in the floor exercise event. Rebeca Andrade of Brazil won the gold medal, Simone Biles of the US took the silver, and Jordan Chiles of the US earned the bronze. This marks the first all-Black gymnastics podium in Olympic history. In a show of respect, Biles and Chiles bowed to Andrade, recognizing her outstanding performance. Andrade, who also won silver in the all-around and vault, and bronze in the team event with Brazil, has a history of overcoming injuries.
