Energy Secretary Màiri McAllan welcomed a baby boy, Somhairle, on August 2nd. She praised NHS staff in Scotland for their "outstanding" care and will resume her duties in March 2025. Gillian Martin, an MSP, will cover her role during maternity leave. McAllan, the Net Zero Secretary of Scotland, received congratulatory messages from fellow politicians, including First Minister John Swinney.
