27-year-old Singaporean sprinter Shanti Pereira, nicknamed the "sprint queen," will have a second chance to advance to the women's 200m semi-finals at the Tokyo Olympics after finishing last in her initial heat with a time of 23.21 seconds. She will participate in the repechage round on August 5th, a new qualification system introduced for the 2024 Paris Olympics, allowing athletes who did not finish in the top three of their heat an extra chance to qualify.
