24-year-old Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo made history by winning the country's first-ever gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, scoring 15.000 points in the men's floor event of artistic gymnastics. Yulo's victory marks the Philippines' second overall gold medal in the Olympics, following weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz's gold in the 2021 Tokyo Games. Yulo is set to receive numerous rewards and accolades, including P10 million from the Philippine Sports Commission under Republic Act 10699, an Olympic Gold Medal of Valor, a P24-million fully furnished condominium from Megaworld Corp, P3 million from the House of Representatives, and additional incentives from local businesses.
