Man dies after being pulled from Long Island Sound, Coast Guard finds missing individual using helicopter.
A man died after being pulled from Long Island Sound near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef in Fairfield. Two individuals were reported struggling in the water; one was rescued by bystanders while the second was not located. The Coast Guard found the missing man using a helicopter and pronounced him dead upon bringing him to shore. Authorities, including Fairfield police and fire, Westport Police and Fire Departments, Trumbull police, and the US Coast Guard, responded to the report.
